Manchester City plan ‘huge’ bid for Liverpool ace

Manchester City are planning a massive offer to snatch Luis Suarez from Liverpool this summer, according to reports from the Sunday Times.

The Uruguayan ace has been the Premier League’s standout performer this term, with his 29 goals and 12 assists – the highest in both categories for any player in the division – having boosted the Reds’ shock title challenge.

Suarez was linked with a move away from Anfield last year, but he has since penned a new mega money contract and looks set to be able to fulfil his Champions League ambitions on Merseyside, which has prompted talk that he will indeed stay put this summer.

But that has not deterred City, who are ready to make a significant bid to land the prolific attacker.

The Etihad Stadium outfit’s transfer man, Txiki Begiristain, is said to have made Suarez a top target amid rumours that Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko could leave the club, and is already exploring a release clause-triggering offer.

As a part of his new contract the South American is speculated to have a get out fee of around £70m, which the Abu Dhabi-backed outfit can afford.

But much depends on Suarez himself, with the player having stated that he would like to experience European football at Liverpool next season.
