Manchester City reject loan offer

John Guidetti Manchester City forwardManchester City striker John Guidettiā€™s hopes of leaving the club to join Trabzonspor on loan have been thwarted, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The young Swede looks to be some way from the starting XI at the Etihad Stadium under new boss Manuel Pellegrini, despite being valued highly by the club.

Guidetti rose to prominence in 2012, after netting a staggering 20 goals in 23 appearances for Eredivise giants Feyenoord while on loan at the club.

It was expected that he would force his way into the first-team squad following such form, but injuries prevented him from making the step.

Despite not having made an appearance for the Sky Blues since the 2010/11 season, interest in his signature has been high.

Sunderland were linked with a move during the summer, but were unable to secure a deal, while a number of other temporary deals were mooted.

Trabzonspor were one side said to be interested in his signature..

The Turkish giants contacted the Sky Blues, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

With Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero all available, Guidetti looks set for a tough fight for first-team action.

Should John Guidetti be allowed to leave Manchester City to rediscover his form?
