Manchester City star Yaya Toure scored a trademark goal to give Ivory Coast the lead in their 3-1 African Cup of Nations semi-final victory over DR Congo.
Known for his ability to strike a ball with immense power, the central midfielder has once again produced the goods despite being criticised for his performance in the tournament.
However, the shot is bound to silence critics of the midfield powerhouse and put to bed any talk of sub-standard performances.
Toure is one the key members of the Citizens squad with Manuel Pellegrini often suffering in his absence, but he was unable to recall his previous season form which made him one of the best midfielders in the world.
Wilfried Bony, who only recently completed his move to the Etihad from Swansea City, also took part in the match, but was unable to add to his two-goal tally.
With the Ivory Coast now through to the finals for the second time in three years, they will face the winner of today’s match between Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
