United are currently 12 points clear of their neighbours and will have to suffer a monumental collapse if they are to give up the title again this season.
City came from behind around this time last season to lift the Premier League trophy in unbelievable circumstances on the final day and they are still confident of repeating that this time around.
City face a tough trip to Everton tomorrow whereas United host manager-less Reading who are struggling to get out of the bottom three.
A 15 point gap would definitely be too much for the Blue half of Manchester to claw back but Clichy is confident that although City have not had a great season, they can end it in the best way possible and once again break the hearts of their bitter rivals.
“It’s not much different from last season,” Clichy told the Daily Mirror.
“If United don’t make mistakes, they will win the title, but everyone is saying they have to lose four games.
“That’s not true.
“If they draw a few matches, we can make up points in that way. And one bad result can become two and the doubts creep in – you ask yourself, ‘Is it going to be the same as last season’?”
