Manchester City to line up sensational move for former Liverpool talisman

The Mail on Sunday are reporting that Manchester City are considering making a sensational £100 million bid for former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan proved to be City’s chief tormentor in midweek after scoring a brace for current club Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium in a Champions League last-16 tie.

The 2-1 defeat for City in that match means they are almost certain to be eliminated from the competition, and despite investing in Ivorian hitman Wilfried Bony during the January transfer window – bought for £28 million from Swansea City – it seems that Manuel Pellegrini remains convinced his strikeforce needs strengthening.

After making a quiet start to his Barcelona career since his $75 million move from Liverpool at the start of the season, Suarez has begun to find his feet at the Catalan club with a series of impressive performances.

Following Manchester City’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, last year’s champions are now five points off league leaders Chelsea, having played a game more.
