Sky Blues chief Manuel Pellegrini is thought to have lost patience with Joe Hart after the England international made an error laden start to the season.
Since the club’s loss to Chelsea, Costel Pantilimon has been City’s first choice stopper, but it is believed that the Chilean has tasked sporting director Txiki Begiristain with finding a permanent number one ahead of the January transfer window.
Valdes and Casillas are both seen as ideal candidates, with the duos’ respective futures unclear.
The Barca stopper is set to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season once his contract expires, with a switch to Monaco being mooted.
But, City are ready offer him an alternative option and are hopeful that the lure of the Premier League may enough to tempt him to pursue an early switch.
Casillas is also on their radar, with the Real skipper currently warming the bench under Carlo Ancelotti.
The impressive form of Diego Lopez has seen the Los Blancos idol lose his starting berth, leading to speculation of a move to boost his chances of securing a World Cup spot.
Pellegrini is known to be a fan of the ‘keeper, and sees him as a good alternative to Hart.
Could Victor Valdes or Iker Casillas really be heading to Manchester City? Does Joe Hart deserve another chance?
