Football Manager 2019 was released on November 2nd this year, and here at Football FanCast we’ve delved into the depths of the most detailed version of the game ever to find some of the best wonderkids available on your Manchester City save.

FM19 comes with a raft of new features and updates. Set your tactical philosophy, rage at a VAR reviewed decision or, most importantly for our young stars, use the brand new training schedule to take a hands-on approach to developing individuals, or your team as a whole.

Whether those youngsters are already described by the media as wonderkids, or if they need a helping hand to reach their potential, bringing a player from the youth team and moulding him into a first-team star has to be one of the most satisfying achievements in FM.

Taking over from Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium may sound easy considering the vast resources at your disposal, but maintaining the standards expected at the club whilst still giving game time to their most promising youth prospects should prove to be quite the challenge.

So, who are the young players you should be carefully tracking in the City squad? Click through our gallery to find out.

Cambridge-born Ben Knight has not been at the club for long, having previously been a hot prospect at Ipswich. According to an interview with the official Manchester City website, Knight is an attack-minded player who loves to operate as a classic No. 10 and models his game on the Cityzens’ very own David Silva.

Currently on loan for a second season at Girona, Douglas has already amassed a wealth of senior level experience despite his youth. The midfielder is clearly highly thought of by his parent club, as Guardiola publicly decried the fact that his second loan switch this season was enforced due to the 20-year-old’s failure to receive a work permit to play in England, as reported by the BBC.
