Manchester City face off with Liverpool on Sunday in what is set to be the biggest clash of this Premier League season so far.

The two clubs battled until the final whistle last campaign, with City eventually pipping Liverpool to the title by just a point.

A famous goal-line clearance from John Stones by 11 millimetres and a Riyad Mahrez 86th-minute penalty miss were both moments that proved how fine the margins were between the two sides.

Now, the Reds can once again get a foothold on this title race early on, with a win against the champions set to take them nine points clear in the table.

Four changes are expected for City from the 1-1 draw against Atalanta in midweek.

The most notable is the addition of Claudio Bravo. The injury to Ederson is set to keep him out of the Anfield showdown, forcing in City's second choice keeper.

Elsewhere at the back, the experience of Benjamin Mendy over Angelino should put the Frenchman into the left-back slot. Angelino has only eight appearances for City and the test against Mohamed Salah might be too much for him to handle.

The centre-back spots all put pick themselves with the injury to Aymeric Laporte and the questionable form of Nicolas Otamendi this season.

At right-back, Kyle Walker proved his attacking worth by registering a goal and an assist against Southampton last week - this should keep him in the side.

As per usual, Kevin De Bruyne is the first name in the midfield with his incredible nine assists so far in the league. Elsewhere, the injuries David Silva and Rodri should force in Ilkay Gundogan and put Bernardo Silva in ahead of Phil Foden.

Despite Foden's impressive form of late, the magnitude of the occasion suggests starting is perhaps a step too far for him right now.

Raheem Sterling is arguably the first name on the teamsheet with his 14 goals in 16 appearances so far. On the right, Riyad Mahrez is likely to start with Silva dropping into centre-midfield.

Completing the lineup will most likely be Sergio Aguero. Gabriel Jesus may have started four out of the last five games, but Aguero's 13 goals in 14 appearances for City this season make him crucial for this game.
