Manchester City are seemingly starting the new season just the way they ended the last one – winning.
Last campaign was extraordinarily successful for the Citizens who maintained their domestic dominance in England by clinching the treble for their cabinet.
And that cabinet seems to be getting even fuller after Pep Guardiola’s troops beat Liverpool in the weekend’s Community Shield clash.
The Citizens pulled off a narrow victory after a penalty shootout after the teams were inseparable in regular time as the match finished 1-1.
Raheem Sterling quickly took to Instagram to celebrate this big achievement for the team and he was soon showered with all sorts of praise by other stars and his friends.
Adebayo Akinfenwa was actually among the first ones to the scene and he posted a long reply, praising Manchester City’s young forward and giving him some banter, too.
But he wasn’t the only one who showed up with nice words or simply with emojis showing support.
The Citizens now have to gear up for the start of the new Premier League season.
They will face West Ham on August 10 to open the campaign as they look to take the top flight crown again.
