Premier League club (not Watford) eyeing stunning Liverpool flop deal

Manchester City are considering a stunning move to bring former star Mario Balotelli back to the Etihad Stadium from Liverpool, according to reports from Tuttosport.

The 25-year-old Italy international only signed for the Reds last summer from AC Milan, but with a meagre four goals to his name, just one of which came in Premier League action, he’s already been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Brendan Rodgers.

His lack of importance at Anfield was driven home on Monday night as £32.5m striker Christian Benteke scored the winning goal against Bournemouth while ‘Balo’ watched on from the stands.

And now reports claim that City are pondering a surprise move to lure him back to the Etihad Stadium.

Balotelli played for the Sky Blues between 2010 and 2013, and helped the club to win their first ever Premier League title.

Although such a move would be, arguably, the shock of the transfer window, the powerful forward enjoyed one of the best spells of his career in Manchester.

Balotelli has been linked with Watford, however, the club are understood to have no interest in him.
