Miralem Pjanic says that Manchester City star Edin Dzeko is ken to join him in Serie A, with a link up at Roma an option.
The playmaker and the Sky Blues striker are two of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s star names, and played together at last summer’s World Cup.
Pjanic currently plies his trade at the Stadio Olimpico, where he’s been a big hit in Italian football since joining the club from Lyon.
Dzeko meanwhile is far from being a major figure at City, with the arrival of Wilfried Bony at the Etihad Stadium over January having put his first-team future in doubt.
And Pjanic says that his compatriot has told him that Italian football appeals to him and that playing together for Roma is a genuine option:
“We are friends and he has told me that he would love to play in Serie A,” he is quoted by Goal.
“He is closely following Roma. It would be great if we could one day play together both for the national team and here at Roma.”
Dzeko, 29, has been a City player since 2011 after breaking through at Wolfsburg, yet he’s failed to hold down a guaranteed starting berth under managers such as Manuel Pellegrini and Roberto Mancini.
