Spaniards desperate for Man City hit-man

Valencia are ready to spend big to keep hold of Manchester City‘s Alvaro Negredo at the end of the season, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.

The Spaniard joined the La Liga giants on loan over the summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium after just one season in English football.

The player himself recently suggested that he could indeed return to City at the end of the season should Los Che fail to qualify for the Champions League, yet it’s now understood that the coastal club are desperate to keep him.

Valencia are said to be ready to use the £22.6m clause in the temporary transfer to ensure that ‘The Beast’ remains at the Mestalla – a fee that may rise by £1.6m depending on appearances.

Negredo has only made three brief outings for his current side this term due to a foot injury, but is expected to play a key role when fully fit.

However another loanee Bruno Zuculini may return to City from Valencia ahead of the January window.

The Argentine has managed only 45 minutes of action this season, which has frustrated the Sky Blues.
