Kevin De Bruyne is having a fantastic season for Manchester City in the English Premier League.
The Belgian midfielder won the club’s player of the year award in 2015/16, his debut season at the Etihad, but he’s on course to have an even better one this time round.
In fact he could be having one of the best seasons in Europe full stop, as this new stat from @Squawka shows.
The creative midfielder has made 8 assists in the Premier League so far, the leading amount over almost every single player in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Only Ivory Coast international Jean Seri has had as many, playing for Nice in Ligue 1.
His latest came in City’s important 2-0 win over Watford at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Also scoring three goals for the Citizens this season, it’s clear that there’s no-one as effective under Pep Guardiola right now. If they can keep him in Europe-leading form, there’s every chance that City can close the gap on league leaders Chelsea over the next few months.
Most assists in Europe's top 5 leagues:
K. De Bruyne (8)
J. Seri (8)
F. Anderson (7)
E. Forsberg (7)
T. Kroos (7)
