Stoke eyeing transfer deal for Man City striker (not Bony)

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Stoke City are ‘taking a look’ at Manchester City striker Tyrese Campbell.

The 16-year-old is the son of former Arsenal, Everton and West Bromwich Albion striker Kevin Campbell, who scored 82 goals throughout his Premier League career.

Campbell junior, also a front-man, is currently on the books at Manchester City but appears keen to leave the Etihad. The Daily Mail reported in April that he’d snubbed an improved contract offer from the Premier League title hopefuls.

That has lead to rumours of a summer switch to West Ham, but the latest reports suggest the teenager could be plying his trade at the Bet365 Stadium this season.

Campbell took part in Stoke’s 6-0 win over Rhyl in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, coming off the bench for Jon Walters after 55 minutes. The youngster hit the bar before setting up Danny Jarvis for the final goal of the afternoon.

However, whether Campbell is officially on trial with the Potters remains unconfirmed.
