The honeymoon period for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is well and truly over, with the Citizens having now gone five matches in all competitions without a win.
That loss of form has seen them surrender their advantage in the Premier League title chase, allowing Arsenal and Liverpool to pull level on points, whilst Chelsea are just one point behind in fourth place.
It sets up a fantastic Premier League season for the neutral supporter but question marks have been raised against Guardiola in recent matches and one stat has emerged which identifies exactly where the issues in the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss’ side are.

With six defensive errors across nine Premier League matches, it’s no surprise that City have surrendered their lead at the top of the table – although they will find comfort in the fact that both Manchester United and Liverpool aren’t too far behind with four defensive errors to their names apiece.
New signings Claudio Bravo and John Stones have looked shaky at times, whilst the continued absence of captain Vincent Kompany does not help matters, but it’s a team game and the City squad must do more to wipe these problems clear in the coming weeks.
