Manchester City looked like their old lethal selves as they ripped West Ham apart on the counter-attack. The Premier League Champions created a 4-on-3 overlap that star striker Sergio Aguero finish with aplomb.
This goal takes Aguero to the hallowed 20 goal a season mark in league for only the second time in his Manchester City career – the first coming in his debut 2011/12 campaign. And while you can’t argue that the Argentine has exactly had a bad season, Aguero has been conspicuously absent over the past few months while Manuel Pellegrini’s side have struggled.
It’s presumably for this reason that the striker was shunned by his fellow professionals when the PFA Player of the Year nominations were released.
However, Manchester City fans took to Twitter to argue his case:
People keep calling Giroud world class. Or "becoming" world class. Aguero is the definition of world class.

Aguero has more League goals than player of the year contenders Kane & Costa. #mcfc

Hope Aguero ends the season with 30 goals. That will well and truly put the PFA player of the year nominees list to shame.

If the season had started on Boxing Day then Man City would be ninth, 17 points behind leaders Arsenal, and it would seem that City have rediscovered their form a little too late.
