Vincent Kompany has no desire to leave Manchester City and has indicated he intends to see out his contract.
Kompany helped City secure the Premier League title last season but his side failed to mount a serious defence of their crown as fierce rivals Manchester United secured the top prize with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night.
There has been tentative speculation linking Kompany with a summer exit, with reports suggesting Barcelona eye the Belgian as an ideal long-term successor to Carles Puyol, but the 27-year-old insists he is happy at City.
He told the Sun: “I have no reason to go elsewhere.
“I am happy here, I have five years left and if you knew the plans for this team for the future… I consider that to be a real objective.”
