West Ham United have been rebuffed in their attempts to land Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho on loan, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
The Hammers are simply the latest club to have expressed an interest in borrowing the Nigerian forward, after a flurry of activity saw Bournemouth and Sunderland also reportedly make moves.
However, City boss Manuel Pellegrini is thought to have turned down any approach for the 19-year old as he looks for cover up front.
First choice strikers Wilfried Bony and Sergio Aguero have both struggled with injuries and Samir Nasri is still sidelined with a knee problem.
The Chilean coach is apparently unwilling to sanction his departure while his forward options remain limited.
Iheanacho has impressed during his brief cameos this term, notching six goals in all competitions, including a strike against Norwich in the FA Cup.
With City fighting on four fronts, the teenager could be in line for first-team opportunities more often in the near future.
