Will he ever get his chance at Man City?

Wilfried Bony was again left on the bench by Manuel Pellegrini for the game against Liverpool in the Premier League today.

Man City travel to Anfield following a disappointing 2-1 Champions League defeat to Barcelona at the Etihad on Tuesday night. However, Liverpool did not have the best of preparations for today’s game, only arriving back from Istanbul at 4.19am on Friday after crashing out of the Europa League on penalties to Turkish side Besiktas.

Pellegrini seemingly prefers Edin Dzeko for the understanding that the player has built up with fellow striker Sergio Aguero over the years. However, few would argue that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is a better striker than Bony.

Things do not bode well for City going into today’s game having won none of their last 11 Premier League trips to Anfield (W0 D4 L7). Liverpool are also in a bit of form at the moment, and are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League matches (W7 D3); the best record of any side over the last 10 games.
