The Premier League duo have both been linked with the 19-year-old midfielder this summer, after being impressed by his recent Bundesliga displays.
Despite his young age, Draxler is already considered to be a key first team player at Schalke, and has been tipped to be a future star of the German national team.
Naturally, his performances have attracted attention, but the club’s sporting director, Horst Heldt, says that it would take a massive offer to even force them to consider selling the starlet:
“If we were to get an offer of £60m then things could change,” he said.
“However (such an offer) is not expected. We want Draxler to be part of our future.”
Arsenal and United have both scouted Draxler across the course of the last few years, and are believed to have been impressed by what they have seen.
Schalke are under no pressure to sell, with the teenager currently under contract until 2018 – a deal he penned earlier this year.
Draxler hit 11 goals in all competitions during the 2012/13 campaign and impressed in the Champions League.
Should Manchester United or Arsenal break the bank for Julian Draxler?
