Manchester United and Man City fight for Belgian ace

Zakaria Bakkali (Arsenal)Manchester City and Manchester United are set to fight for the signature of PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Belgian winger is held in high regard across Europe and has even been been compared to international team-mate and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Bakkali has really emerged as one of the Eredivisie’s top talents this term, taking the record as the Dutch top flight’s youngest ever hat-trick scorer – a feat previously held by Arjen Robben – with a three-goal haul against NEC Nijmegan.

United and City have both been alerted by his fine form and are set to do battle for his services.

The pair have been linked with January moves for the 17-year-old, who is not eligible to sign a professional contract until his next birthday.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also keen, but it is thought that the Manchester duo are ahead of their domestic rivals as it stands.

Bakkali has been lauded by his international manager Marc Wilmots, who has tipped the winger for a bright future.

The teenager is yet to make a senior international appearance for Belgium, but is expected to win his first cap soon.
