Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are arguably recognised as the best two pundits within the beautiful game – although that isn’t exactly hard when you’re competing against the likes of Garth Crooks, Robbie Savage and Adrian Chiles.
The duo’s Monday Night Football allows them time to offer interesting and worthwhile insight into the Premier League’s latest round of fixtures.
The best bit about their whole double act is the fact that, deep down, you know they still harbour those ill feelings towards one another that grew over their years of doing battle on the pitch in some tempestuous affairs between the Reds and the Red Devils.
Gary Neville clearly still continues to love to wind up his former international team-mate and during the build up to today’s clash at Anfield, the Manchester United legend couldn’t resist the chance to have a cheeky dig whilst Carragher was discussing his former colleague Steven Gerrard’s impact.
Carragher: "I think Gerrard will give the crowd a big lift after coming on after 60 minutes." Gary Neville: "You'll be 2-0 down by then."
