According to The Daily Mirror, Manchester United are willing to pay up to £40million to land Danny Rose from Tottenham this January, and will also offer Luke Shaw as part of the deal.
Manchester United are ready to offer Danny Rose an escape route from Tottenham, by offering the North London club £40million and Luke Shaw to land the England international.
Rose and Shaw, whose total value on Transfermarkt is £41.4million, have both fallen out of favour with their respective clubs this season. The former made comments in the press regarding manager Mauricio Pochettino and has only just returned from injury, while the latter is not considered good or fit enough by Jose Mourinho.
Arguably the best full back in the Premier League over the last two season, Danny Rose has been a key part of Tottenham’s rise from Europa League spots to genuine Championship contenders.
Manchester United are crying out for a left-back who can match the athletic abilities of Antonio Valencia, who occupies the right-back role at Old Trafford, and Rose would be the perfect fit.
Much like Rose, Luke Shaw is certainly a talented player in his position. However, since breaking his leg against PSV Eindhoven at the start of the 2016/17 season, the young Englishman has failed to find his form again.
A move to Tottenham would certainly reignite Shaw’s career, especially with Mauricio Pochettino’s sympathetic, motivating style of management.
