£36.2m ace readying transfer request to force Man United move

Nicolas Otamendi is preparing to hand in a transfer request in a bid to force a move from Valencia to Manchester United this summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The impressive centre-back is currently away with Argentina at the Copa America, but his future has been the subject of much debate in recent days.

Otamendi himself has hinted that that he’s ready to leave Los Che for United in the wake of suggestions that his agent has discussed a transfer with the La Liga side.

Despite all of this, Valencia are holding out for a release clause-triggering £36.2m for their man, with the financial backing of owner Peter Lim meaning the Mestalla club are in no desperate need to sell – as they have been in the past with the likes of Juan Mata, David Silva and David Villa.

Reports claim that Otamendi has been in close contact with Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo – both of whom play for United – while away with his national side and now he’s ready to force his way out by handing in a transfer request.
