Agent: “50/50 chance” Man United & Spurs transfer target will leave this summer

According to reports from The Guardian, Riyad Mahrez’ agent has admitted there’s a “50/50 chance” he could leave Leicester City during the summer transfer window.

The Algerian international’s intrinsic role in the Foxes’ shock Premier League title, bagging 17 goals and eleven assists in 35 appearances this term, saw him claim the PFA Player of the Year award last month.

That has also generated transfer interest amongst some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with The Guardian reporting he’s been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer transfer window.

And the 25-year-old winger’s agent, Kamel Bengougam, has admitted that although talks over an improved contract will take place within the next few weeks, Mahrez could leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the campaign.

As quoted by The Guardian, Benogougam said; “Yes, of course there is a possibility. When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention.

“But at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it. I’d say it’s 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes.”

Mahrez currently takes home around £35k per week, with his current deal set to expire in 2019, but Leicester are willing to double his wages in an effort to fend off potential summer suitors.
