The Red Devils snapped up the Italy international last summer in a £12.7million move from Serie A outfit Torino.
But the right-back’s form waned as the 2015/16 campaign went on and he doesn’t appear to be an important part of Jose Mourinho’s plans, having selected not been selected to face Bournemouth last Sunday.
According to Sky Sports, Napoli and Roma are both interested in bringing Darmian back to the Italian top flight before the summer window slams shut.
And the 26-year-old certainly wouldn’t be the first defender to leave Old Trafford this month, with Paddy McNair and Donald Love completing a double-transfer to Sunderland last week.
Back in July, The Daily Mail reported that Mourinho would look to offload Darmian, but Sky Sports claim the defender has recently stated his desire to stay with the Premier League title hopefuls.
