Anthony Martial is clearly a player that thrives on confidence. In September 2015 he was on cloud nine after his big-money move to Old Trafford from Monaco, and he proved it with a wonderful goal on his debut against Liverpool that will live long in the memory of Manchester United fans across the country.

During the summer of this year though, the 22-year-old took a number of knock-backs that clearly affected him and his performances at the start of this season. Firstly, the youngster was left out of France's World Cup squad and then during pre-season he was fined by Jose Mourinho for taking time off for the birth of his son.

Subsequently, the Frenchman started the season in poor form but in his last three Premier League games he has now netted four goals and is getting an extended run of starts for the first time in what seems like an age.

There is no doubt that Martial has huge talent and he could certainly be one of the world's top wingers if given the opportunity to develop. After his brace against Chelsea, the youngster took another step up at Old Trafford with his fantastic curling finish against Everton making it 2-0 to the home side.

Martial had three shots on target throughout the 90 minutes against Everton and produced an impressive four key passes from the left-hand side. There is no doubt that he will have to improve on the 74 per cent pass accuracy, but with even more confidence and a strong run in the side this is certainly possible.

Mourinho is finally being rewarded for trusting Martial as the former Monaco man has upped his game and his returns in terms of goals and assists.
