Arsenal fans urge club to sign Marcus Rashford after brilliant England display

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford impressed and scored a stunning goal in England’s 2-0 friendly win against Costa Rica at Elland Road on Thursday night, and Arsenal fans have urged their club to sign the 20-year-old, rated at £58.5m by Transfermarkt.

The forward was handed his chance to stake a claim for a starting spot in the Three Lions’ opening 2018 World Cup fixture against Tunisia on June 18 by Gareth Southgate, and he took it with both hands as he netted a brilliant strike from outside the penalty area.

Meanwhile, new Gunners boss Unai Emery may well be assessing his squad right now, and following rumours that he could look to offload Alexandre Lacazette this summer, he could be in the market for some new competition for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top with Rashford, who destroyed right-back Hector Bellerin by scoring two goals and picking up an assist from the left flank in his side’s 3-2 win against the north London club in 2016.

Arsenal supporters, who would prefer to sign an exciting 21-year-old DM instead of Steven Nzonzi, took to social media to give their thoughts on Rashford’s latest performance, and while one said “I’d love to have him at Arsenal”, another said “Arsenal should slap £40m on Rashford”.
