The Armenian international looks set to leave the club this summer, with his contract due to expire at the end of next season and talks over a new deal reportedly breaking down.

Arsenal were seen as the front-runners in the race to sign the 27-year-old and some reports have claimed they’re already working on a £25million deal for the summer transfer window.

But The Daily Mail, who also cite interest from Serie A champions Juventus, claim Manchester United are now ready to rival Arsenal for Mkhitaryan’s signature after launching inquiries into his availability.

United boss Jose Mourinho allegedly launched a bid for the former Shakhtar star during his time as Chelsea manager, reportedly worth a whopping £46million.
