Barca star eyeing Premier League return

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is set to reject a sensational return to Manchester United in order to push through a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Pique has fallen out of favour at the Catalan club and had been identified as a transfer target for Manchester United – his former club – in the new year.

However, reports in Spain claim that the Spaniard favours a move to Stamford Bridge over a return to Old Trafford, and a deal with the London club is believed to be in the pipeline.

Jose Mourinho has already offered £23.6 million for the 27 year-old and although Barca are yet to accept it, they are willing to cash in on the defender and a deal is now likely to happen.

Pique spent four years as a youngester at Manchester United before moving to Barcelona in 2008, where he has tasted great success.
