The Argentine became the Red Devils’ and English football’s most expensive ever signing before the start of the season, arriving at Old Trafford from Real Madrid in a £59.7m deal.
After shining for Los Blancos and his nation at the start of 2014, many predicted that Di Maria would become a key cog on Louis van Gaal’s new-look United side, but despite a flurry of impressive early showings, his form has dipped dramatically since the winter period.
And now reports claim that the player himself is desperate to leave Old Trafford and that he never truly wanted to sign for the Premier League club.
Di Maria had his heart set on a switch to PSG after being forced out of Real, but Financial Fair Play restrictions prevented to Ligue 1 champions from pulling off a move, and allowed United to pounce.
The Parisians remain keen, but a fee in the £30m realm is now their aim for the pacey attacker.
