Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal yesterday afternoon has put the fate of Champions League qualification back into the Red Devils’ hands, guaranteed to trump their local rivals to fourth place if they win their two remaining Premier League fixtures.
The first is a visit to West Ham on Tuesday evening in the last ever competitive fixture at the Boleyn Ground. But according to The Telegraph, United will have to claim a win without key attacker Anthony Martial, their top scorer across all competitions and in the Premier League this season.
The France international limped off with a hamstring injury as United warmed up to face Norwich City last weekend and has not been passed fit for the trip to East London. He’s now facing a race to make United’s final league game against Bournemouth on Sunday but could be rested with the FA Cup final on Saturday 21st May in mind.
