Do you agree with this highly-controversial decision made during Newcastle vs Man United?

Well, well, well. The age-old handball debate was raised as Tottenham Hotspur were awarded a late penalty during their 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Sunday and the controversial issue has reared its ugly head once again this evening.

With just eight minutes on the clock during Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with Manchester United at St. James’ Park, referee Mike Dean felt compelled to blow his whistle and award a penalty for a controversial handball.

Magpies defender Chancel Mbemba rose in the box with Marouane Fellaini at a corner, only for the ball to strike his upper arm that was admittedly, in a slightly unnatural position as he looked to keep one hand on the Belgian lankster.

Red Devils skipper Wayne Rooney swiftly converted from the spot to give United a one-nil lead but, understandably, not everybody is too happy about the decision – unleashing Twitter into a frenzy of debate over what should and what shouldn’t constitute handball. ┬áHere are some of the best reactions from social media:
