“Draws like these will cost us the title,” rues United boss

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has rued his side’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, claiming that a failure to turn draws into wins could cost them a shot at title glory.

“When you want to be a part of the title race, you have to win these games,” said Van Gaal.

“I saw Manchester City’s first half against Crystal Palace, they struggled but 3-0, that is the difference.

“We dropped two points.¬†We were the better team and that’s frustrating when you’re the better team and you don’t win these kind of games.”

After Christian Benteke’s fine opener, United equalised through a Radamel Falcao but could not find the winner despite Villa having Gabriel Agbonlahor sent off.

The Red Devils are currently third in the table with 32 points, seven behind second-place Manchester City.
