Dutch boss tipped for Man United job

Louis van Gaal has been tipped as the man to replace David Moyes as Manchester United manager should he get sacked, according to the Metro.

A 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday was the latest setback in a turbulent first season in charge for Moyes, and now it seems United fans are starting to lose patience.

Despite Sir Bobby Charlton insisting that the Scot’s job is safe, his future is under intense scrutiny as United’s season goes from one calamity to the next.

Van Gaal is regarded as one of the best managers in world football, and has hinted he would like to manage in England after guiding Holland at this summer’s World Cup.

Former Holland midfielder Ronald de Boer is confident his former Ajax and Barcelona manager would be a huge success in the Premier League.

“He is one of the best coaches in the world and can really prepare a team,” said De Boer, who is now an Ajax youth coach.

“He can find weakness in any opponent and present them with solid opposition as he analyses the game really well.

“He has so much quality he would be successful in England, especially if he is given time to set out his team.

“At Bayern he won the Bundesliga and got to the final of the Champions League with young players like Thomas Muller, Holger Badstuber and others.

“No one had heard of them but now everyone is talking about them. He has an eye for talent.”
