Dutch superstar desperate for Manchester United switch

Wesley Sneijder is ready to take a significant pay-cut to make a January move to Manchester United, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Dutch playmaker has been on the Premier League champions’ radar for some time, with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson believed to have been close to securing his signature last year.

However the Red Devils’ interest cooled, and Sneijder instead opted to make a big move to Galatasaray.

But despite him having been in Istanbul for less than 12 months, the 29-year-old is ready to force a transfer to Old Trafford in response to David Moyes’ rumoured interest.

The Scot is said to be ready to turn to the ex-Inter Milan, Ajax and Real Madrid ace as he looks to inject some creativity into his midfield and save what is fast looking likely to be a disappointing debut season at the club.

Sneijder currently pockets a whopping £6m-per-year in Turkey, but he is thought to be willing to take a significant cut in order to make one last high-profile switch.

Gala are said to be ready to sell for around £8m, which has alerted a number of clubs.

Sneijder himself sees United as a good option, with a spot in Holland’s World Cup squad believed to be on his list of priorities.

The experienced midfielder feels that his chances of making Louis van Gaal’s final cut for the tournament will be increased significantly if he were top be in one of Europe’s top leagues.
