Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has been the subject of an enquiry from newly promoted Middlesbrough, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian playmaker emerged as a hugely rated prospect under Louis van Gaal last season, though looks unable to command much of a starting berth under Jose Mourinho.
He is said to want the 20-year old to move away from Old Trafford on loan in order to garner some much needed first-team games, much like Adnan Januzaj.
The Belgian also moved to the North East recently, having joined Sunderland on loan.
Boro have moved for Victor Valdes following his axing from the Theatre of Dreams, while they have also brought in big names such as Alvaro Negredo and Gaston Ramirez ahead of their first season back in the big time.
Representing the Selecao at under-23 level, he is not at the Olympic Games, which could see a move forced through imminently.
