Earlier this month, Goal France reported that the 28-year-old had unexpectedly travelled to England to hold talks with an unnamed Premier League club – believed to be Manchester United.
According to Le Parisian, rumours of the 49-cap international leaving France’s training camp ahead of their Euro 2016 semi-final with Germany to cross the channel have been strenuously denied.
But the French publication claim PSG could be open to parting with Matuidi following the arrival of like-minded midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who has followed manager Unai Emery from Sevilla.
Furthermore, they allege the former St. Etienne star would be interested in a move to the Premier League if he was approached by one of its top clubs, namely Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester City or Manchester United.
Currently, however, there are no formal contract proposals from any of the aforementioned clubs.
