Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to become the new boss of Spanish side Real Sociedad, according to reports.
The Scotsman has been out of a job since his sacking by the Red Devils in April but is preparing for a return to football management after he was given a tour of the La Liga outfit earlier in the week and commenced negotiations with Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay.
The Basque club have been without a manager since Jagoba Arraste was dismissed for overseeing a dismal start to the season in which Sociedad have amassed just six points from their opening ten league games.
Moyes has previously stated that he would only accept a new job offer if it presented the right opportunity for him to succeed, and given that Sociedad were Champions League participants only last season, Moyes may have found a club with which he feels he can fulfill his ambitions.
“I’d like to find a job, if I can, that gives me a chance of being successful,” the 51 year-old said.
“I have always felt it could enhance me as a manager to go abroad, so that is a possibility.”
That possibility could become a reality if Moyes agrees terms with Sociedad by the end of the week.
