Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, John Hartson has criticised Manchester United star Paul Pogba for failing to replicate his form with Juventus, at Old Trafford.

The France World Cup winner has endured a rocky time since making his return to United, and was the subject of intense transfer speculation earlier this summer.

A move to either Real Madrid or Juventus failed to materialise, however, and Hartson has now questioned Pogba's level of consistency whilst playing for United.

He said: “Pogba's hot and cold, isn't he. He's not playing at the minute but he's hot and cold. I've not really seen him being world class like the Pogba I saw at Juventus a few years ago.

“I've not seen that side of him ever since he's been at United to be honest.”

On his day, the 26-year-old can be a game-changing talent for the Red Devils – you need to look no further than his dynamic match-winning performance against Manchester City at the Etihad in April 2018. But unfortunately for United, those days are few and far in between.

There are those who still cling on to the belief the Frenchman can still be the leader of the team, and there are those who have simply had enough – his altercation with a section of the Old Trafford faithful last season said it all really.

When a big-money signing like Pogba generates such division amongst a fanbase, it tells you everything you need to know about whether he's been a success or not.

At only 26, however, Pogba still has the peak years of his career ahead of him. If he can knuckle down and shut out the speculation that continues to follow him around, then there is no reason why he cannot be the main man at United.
