Marcos Rojo’s agent has moved to dismiss claims that the Argentine defender is ready to leave Manchester United this January amid links with Napoli.
The former Sporting Lisbon man only signed for the Red Devils last summer, but after helping his nation all the way to the Copa America final over the summer his future has been plunged into doubt due to a series of first XI exclusions.
Although he’s able to play at centre-back, Louis van Gaal has frequently opted to use Daley Blind, a holding midfielder, alongside Chris Smalling at the heart of his backline, placing Rojo’s future in doubt.
Napoli have subsequently been linked with the South American, but his agent, Carlos Goncalves, has revealed that his client has no interest in a move:
“There is no need to talk about it,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club.”
Rojo started Sunday’s victory over Southampton and could be in line for more playing time due to Luke Shaw’s injury woes.
