Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in Manchester United veteran Bastian Schweinsteiger, who could become their third recruit from Old Trafford in the space of a year, according to reports from AMK.
The Germany international only joined the Red Devils last summer from Bayern Munich, and was expected to become the key figure in a new-look Louis van Gaal side.
However, the 31-year-old has largely failed to make an impact in Manchester, with his age and fitness issues having prevented him from putting a run of performances together.
And reports claim that his situation has alerted Fenerbahce, who are keen to entice him to Istanbul, as they did with Robin van Persie last year.
The Dutchman, who fired Man United to their most recent Premier League crown, joined the European heavyweights after slipping down the pecking order under LVG, as did winger Nani.
‘Schweini’ could surely expect a lucrative pay packet at Fener, who are also keen on his team-mate, Juan Mata.
