Some Manchester United fans were left unimpressed with Andreas Pereira's performance in the 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

With the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford missing through injury and Jesse Lingard left on the substitutes' bench, Pereira was handed a role behind Anthony Martial up top against Jurgen Klopp's men.

It was certainly a brave decision from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if he wanted his side to get goals against the Merseyside outfit, seeing as the 24-year-old had one goal and three assists in 20 Premier League appearances in 2019/20 prior to this one.

And it wasn't a decision that went to plan, with the Belgian having a pass percentage of just 61% before he was replaced by Mason Greenwood in the 74th minute, as per SofaScore.

In addition, he also lost possession more times (19) than any of his teammates, wasting some good breaking opportunities in the final third in the second 45 minutes.

He also only won three of the 13 duels he faced against Jurgen Klopp's team, in a display that didn't go down well with the following supporters, with one comparing him to a current unpopular United figure in Jesse Lingard, and another comparing him to a man who flopped at United in Bebe - he made seven appearances in total before departing.

However, while some acknowledged Pereira's poor performance at Anfield, they had some blame for someone else, too.

The big fat United quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Man Utd?

They believe that Solskjaer should have seen the 24-year-old's struggles against the likes of Jordan Henderson and taken him off earlier than 16 minutes from time.

Not great comments for him then, but given the outing against Liverpool was his 30th of the season, United supporters may have to put up with him being in and around the team for the forseeable future.
