Daley Blind believes that his fellow summer arrival Angel di Maria is already Manchester United’s key man.
The Argentine arrived at old Trafford from Real Madrid in a record breaking £59.7m deal, and has already netted three goals in the red shirt – including a stunning scooped effort against Leicester.
He played a key role in the hard fought win against Everton on Sunday, scoring the opening goal before teeing up Radamel Falcao, albeit unintentionally, for the winner.
The result places United in the top four after a difficult start to the season, and Blind – another signing during the last transfer window – feels that the Argentine is already very important to the club’s chances of success this term:
“He’s amazing,” he is quoted as saying about the 26-year-old by the Daily Star.
“He is an excellent player. He can score goals, make assists, he can keep the ball very well.
“I think I am very pleased we have him in our team. He is very important to us.
“We have to do it with everyone though, as a team, everyone that is in the selection we have to fight for each other.”
Di Maria was the top assist maker in La Liga last season with a tally of 17, and impressed the World Cup – helping his nation to reach the final.
