Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his anger at Rio Ferdinand for not participating in the ‘Kick It Out’ racism scheme that Premier League football clubs took part in on Saturday afternoon, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Ferdinand refused to wear a shirt showing off the charity’s appearances while warming up yesterday before the club's game with Stoke City and it seems the former England international may be in hot water after Sir Alex claimed in his midweek press conference that all of his players would join in.

“We’re all wearing the badges and he goes and lets us down. But we’ll deal with it, don’t worry about that.

“I’m very disappointed because I said in the press conference yesterday that the players would be wearing it.

“I do not know what point he is trying to make or if he’s trying to put himself on a different pedestal to everyone else.

“He really should be supporting all the rest of the players who are doing something. He is sending the wrong message.”
