Manchester United are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Nico Gaitan, according to TalkSport.
The Benfica star has been on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar for some time and the Argentine did his chances of securing a potential move to Old Trafford no harm with two excellent performances against United in the Champions League this season.
Gaitan has certainly got a growing list of admirers, not only in the Premier League, with clubs in Italy and Spain already expressing an interest in the versatile midfielder, who reportedly has a buyout clause of £40m.
United are reportedly set to make their move and the Portuguese paper the Record claims that the Red Devils have made an approach to land Gaitan by tabling a £20m offer, having had a previous £16m offer turned down.
It is clear that Ferguson is determined to land the talented Argentine whose versatility will provide Manchester United with no shortage of options in midfield.
