Manchester United have already missed out on prime target Thiago this summer, meaning the club will need to regroup and focus their efforts elsewhere.
It will prove to be a blow to David Moyes, who has clearly been targeting a midfield addition this summer. Positively, however, the club are not short of resources and pulling power for some of the best in Europe.
Moyes may opt to look to his former club for key acquisitions, but putting together a strong squad for both the Premier League and Champions League campaigns will be of greatest importance over familiarity.
Even with an immediate future of uncertainty, Manchester United is still seen as one of the top destinations in European football and hopefully they will be able to attract one or maybe more of the following targets.
