Young is one of those players that never quite lived up to his billing; a man that dazzles at the best of times but proves ineffectual the rest. His early form at United was good, carrying forward his impressive work from Villa and helping bolster Ferguson’s title winning sides. But Young is worryingly one-dimensional, so much so that defences are finding him out and cutting off the option for him to cut inside and unleash a shot or cross. Sure he will score an eye-catching screamer once in a while, but it is his inconsistencies that are the concern for United. Time to sell-up whilst he still has a marker value.
