Five players who could follow Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Man United

It’s already been a very busy few weeks for Jose Mourinho, despite being less than two months into his Manchester United tenure.

The club have already confirmed the signings of Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whilst Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the imminent departure of Henrikh Mhikitarian to the Manchester giants.

It seems that Mourinho isn’t done yet however, with a whole host of other huge European names still linked with the English giants.

With still over a month to go until the Premier League restarts, there is still more than enough time for Manchester United to capture a few more players to add to their growing list if incomings.

Here are FIVE players that could follow Mhikitarian to Old Trafford this summer

John Stones

Stones

John Stones is a player that is on the transfer list of seemingly every top English club right now.

The young defender has everything; defensive prowess, technical ability, fantastic reading of the game, and perhaps most importantly – an English passport.

With prices for English players through the roof due to the current Premier League homegrown laws, John Stones will likely move for a British record fee, but he will be worth every penny.

He had a poor season last year, but Jose Mourinho could be the man to turn the young defender’s career around, and get him back on track.

United will have to compete with a number of other clubs, but Stones would surely find it hard to resist the allure of Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

James Rodriguez

Another player that is attracting the interest of a number of top clubs this summer is Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

The number 10 arrived on the scene following the 2014 World Cup, in which he was the shining light in a hugely impressive Columbia outing.

This one has become a more realistic target over the last few days, with The Daily Mirror reporting that Real Madrid are willing to let the attacking midfielder go this summer.

Much like Stones, this one will likely cost a huge sum, with the Mirror suggesting a fee around the £50million mark; but again like Stones – it will definitely be worth it.

Yannick Bolasie

This is a deal out of left field, and although it seems unlikely to happen; there is always a chance.

The Daily Express is reporting on this one, and is suggesting that Bolasie would act as a value target if he is not able to get his higher priced targets.

As unlikely as this one seems it does make sense; Bolasie is the star of that Crystal Palace team, and has proved that he can perform in the Premier League.

Definitely one to watch out for as we enter the business end of the transfer window.

Hirving Lozanzo

Another target that has emerged recently is Hirving Lozanzo.

Little is known in England about the Mexican international, but it seems that United may be willing to make a move for the youngster sooner rather than later.

An attacking midfielder, the Mexican likes to run with the ball at pace, utilising his excellent technical ability and speed, offering both goals and assists to match.

A number of outlets are reporting on this one, with The Sun suggesting that the deal is actually done.

Whilst that might be jumping the gun slightly; we would not be surprised to see the youngster at Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

Paul Pogba

Pogba

The player that everyone wants to get their hands on this summer; Paul Pogba is a man in demand.

The star midfielder has everything; power, technical ability, a tireless engine and an unstoppable shot from distance.

Manchester United of course have ties to Pogba from his youth days, and Pogba may find it hard to resist the allure of a return to his old club and the chance to play with Jose Mourinho.

Much like many of the other targets here, United will have a fight on their hands to get the £80 million rated man, but with Mourinho reportedly placing at the top of his transfer list; this is definitely one to keep tabs on.
