FIVE ways Manchester United could spend this £40m

News of Gareth Bale potentially moving to Real Madrid has pushed the Wayne Rooney transfer saga out of the limelight this week, but it seems Chelsea are still keen on signing the Manchester United forward, while David Moyes and Ed Woodward have done little to suggest they’ll do everything they can to keep Rooney at Old Trafford, once commenting on how he’s back up to Robin van Persie, and also mentioning they aren’t scared of letting the England man’s contract wind down.

The move will always be a controversial chapter in David Moyes’ United tenure, but it will provide Sir Alex Ferguson’s rightful successor with some added funds to increase the summer transfer kitty, which has so far not even been dented by the Scot.
